I'm really happy with how the textured part turned out. The ring is not completely even but still pretty close- it's hard to make symmetrical shapes on free hand! On the other hand, it's also nice that one can tell it is handcrafted.<br /><br />When you fire metal clay jewelry, the fired piece comes out with a whiteish surface on top that has be removed with a for example a brass brush. Then, to get that sparkly silver finish, the piece is burnished. On this ring, I burnished everything except for the textured motif. I've been longing to try out metal clay since, well, at least one and a half year ago, and now I have finally begun working with this amazing material. It's a small pendant with an apple green CZ. I am really happy with how it turned out. It was a real adrenaline rush to fire it - I always worry a lot when trying out new, potentially dangerous techniques.
