Starting up!

Hi and welcome to this brand new blog! I'm so happy that you found your way here, and I hope that you will want to come back in the future.

This is where I'll be showing off my metal clay creations. I've been longing to try out metal clay since, well, at least one and a half year ago, and now I have finally begun working with this amazing material. Even if it does take some planning and knowledge to get the most out of metal clay, it was easier than I had imagined.

This is my first piece. It's a small pendant with an apple green CZ. I am really happy with how it turned out. It was a real adrenaline rush to fire it - I always worry a lot when trying out new, potentially dangerous techniques. I used my gas stove to fire it, which worked out very well.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. It is a very pretty pendant! I've always wanted to do metal clay too. I did not know that you can use a gas stove to fire metal clay. Will an electric stove work too? If it will then I'm going to get me some clay!

  2. Very nicely done! I've got a kiln and even some PMC that my hubs bought me a while back, but I'm still working up the nerve to use it all. . .You may have inspired me. Thanks! And keep it up!

  3. Therese: Thank you so much! Unfortunately, I don't think the electric stove will work. The gas stove works because the flame on the stove is more os less the same as the one you get with the torch. :(

Hope: You lucky girl! I wish I had a kiln too. You can do so much fun, like copper clay and even gold! Maybe I can try to do someting like a tutorial, even if I'm quite unexperienced myself. I found that you don't really need that many things to get started.
